Aero 1 // AE01

options & Prices

If you’re into marginal gains, then the Aero will fit your idea of winning. Aerodynamic gains are real, simple as that. There’s plenty of science reinforcing that reducing a bike’s drag will save you watts. At higher speeds if you can save those watts in resistance, an aerodynamic advantage will translate to better course times. It’s why every tube shape on the Aero frame has been considered. Every. Single. Tube. Shaped for advantage. From the fork, through the chain stays, not one overlooked.

But, if you do need to look beyond its carefully scultpted form, you’ll find more performance enhancing details, like the stiff Toray T800 carbon fibre, internally routed Di2 compatible cables, an aero flex seat post and direct mount brakes. There is performance in every marginal gain detail on the Aero. So the only thing holding you back, will be you.

Aero is everything

Aerodynamics are in the details and that’s why every tube on the Aero has been aerodynamically optimised. Truncated aerofoil tube shapes are used to deliver maximum aero advantage without the full depth and weight of a full aerofoil shape. By cutting an aerofoil at a sharp angle on the trailing edge, the air path is effectively forced to disconnect from the shape it’s flowing over, helping it to continue travelling in its intended direction. The concept is applied to the head tube, downtube, seat tube, seat post and even the seat stays.

Even further down the aero-rabbit-hole of marginal gains, the aggressive, long and low geometry of the Aero frame will help you get into as aerodynamic riding position as your flexibility will allow.

100% high grade carbon power to the pedals

The moment you throw a leg over it, you’ll notice the Aero frame is itching to pounce forward. The result of a beautiful marriage of materials and frame design, as aerospace-grade, pre-preg Japanese Torayca T800 carbon fibre works together with the oversize BB86 shell and staunch chain stays.

An EPS carbon manufacturing process and a laser-cut, hand laid carbon layup allows us to tune frame thickness with amazing accuracy. That means we can reliably adjust carbon wall thickness to be thicker in areas like the BB and chain stays, that need stiffness and thinner in areas that can save weight. Translating every pedal stroke into watts, without weight.

Direct mount braking system

The Aero frame uses direct-mount brake callipers, which are above all, once again, you got it, more aerodynamic than their centre-mount brethren. Direct Mount is attached to the frame with two fittings, one for each arm of the calliper. The fittings are directly built into the frame and the fork and the result is greater rigidity, with less weight, but morepower and modulation.

Keep it tidy

Route all your cables or Di2 wires neatly inside the frame, with separate cable stops for electronic and cable groupsets and easy access to the inside of the frame underneath the BB for junction boxes and service. All frame access areas are covered with replaceable plastic inserts.

Personalised Fit, For Speed

A bike that fits you, is comfortable and is set up correctly is guaranteed to perform better. It’s why every complete Cabal bike comes with an inclusive bike fitting and fit, which is available in certain city centres. After purchasing your Cabal online with an estimated frame size, we’ll send you to our fitters, where you are properly sized and measured. This guarantees you’ll get the right size, guaranteed. Together with your fitter, you’ll specify a bar width and stem length for the final build. Once you’ve received your bike, you can return to the fit technician, for a final fitting and set-up.

A lightweight, climber's dream.

The Ascent is designed to be the one rock solid bike that does it all. Take it out training and smash some Strava KOM records or get it out into the race peloton and lead the way up those mountains, it’ll give back every drop of muscle you can throw at it. Hit it with wind and weather from every angle and it’ll stay steady.

The frame strikes a refined balance of aerodynamics and weight – with an aero optimised head tube, down tube and an advanced frame that’s made from state-of-the-art Toray T1000, EPS moulded carbon. The frame tips the scales at a featherweight 870g in a size 56, allowing for a build weight that can break the UCI 6.8kg limit. Cake, had and eaten.
