It’s not a coincidence the TT looks like a stealth bomber. Everything on it was designed to cut through air and fly at low-altitude (We haven’t tested if it’s detectable by radar but we wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t). So maximise every watt and hit the afterburners with features like deep section SAS shaped tubes and seatpost, fork integrated front brake, undermount rear brake, Di2 compatible cable integration and EPS technology moulded T800 materials.
Every part of the Timetrial has been shaped for speed. Employing short-back aerofoil shape tubes in abundance, they deliver aero advantage without the full depth of an aerofoil shape. So you get the full aerodynamic gains, with shallower tubes and that means better cross wind stability and lower weight.
When using an aerofoil shape, if the shape on the trailing side is not long enough, if it’s too rounded or does not decrease in angle slowly enough, then the shape creates air lamination and drag, the opposite to the desired effect. By cutting the aerofoil at a sharp angle, the air path is effectively forced to disconnect from the shape it’s flowing over, helping it to continue travelling in its intended direction. An added benefit of the reduced surface area of a SAS tube is improved performance in cross winds over traditional full aerofoil shapes.
While shaping for aerodynamic gains is one of the primary concerns of the Flightcontrol cockpit, tucking cables that cause drag away, is also critical. The system lets you route all your wires though the bars to clean things up. While spacers allow adjustability so that the bike can be fitted for ultimate performance. All items are modular, meaning if you break something, individual items can be replaced.
A 50mm front and 80mm rear carbon wheelset combo designed to increase manoeuvrability and safety, while giving you maximum aerodynamic time gains. The rims feature a toroidal shape – which creates an efficient and versatile wheel that has similarly low drag on the leading and trailing side, as well as better crosswind stability, compared to a conventional V-Shaped deep section rim. These wheels use a basalt braking surface, designed to handle incredibly high temperatures while maintaining optimal braking performance and safety. A wide, 27.25mm outer rim width means they pair well with wider tyres, up to 28mm . They are built with Pillar bladed J bend spokes and cartridge bearings for easy servicing and replacement. The wheelset weight is 1910g.
Look beyond the beautiful paint coat on the Timetrial frame and you’ll find a frame manufactured with exotic aerospace-grade, pre-preg Japanese Torayca T700 carbon fibre, developed by the renowned Torayca Company in Japan. It exhibits excellently balanced composite properties, which make it perfect for delivering a compliant yet stiff ride.
